The Aldea Farm is Doña Martha Lucia's 'second chance in life'. She was born in the Quipile, from coffee grower parents and she has been around coffee all her life. Because of difficult economic conditions and violence in the region she and her family moved to another state of Colombia, only to find out that things were not better there. One day she decided to go back to Quipile with her 2 kids and start all over again.
She was able borrow enough money to buy the farm, and coffee plants. After years of care, patience and hard work the farm is producing 2000 pounds of high quality coffee a year.
