Luisa Aponte Finca La Orquidea

My photo

Doña Luisa, along with her husband Dario Murcia, lived for more that 25 years in the big city, but after getting their 3 kids through highschool, they decided to go back to farming.
Both were born in farms and love the peace and slow pace of the rural life. They bought La Orquidea farm seven years ago. It already had coffee plants and was a good match for their dreams.

La Orquidea's People

Farm

La Orquidea farm is an self-sufficient farm in the whole sense of the word. It has coffee as its main product but, at the same time, Doña Luisa breeds chickens and ducks. The farm also produces plantains, avocados and citrus fruits for their own consumption and to sell locally. It is already a well organized farm, but they have big plans for improving processes with special focus on coffee quality. They work closely to the ASOPROAGRO Quipile to improve their chances getting a fair price for La Orquidea's coffee.

Location
